SAINT SANDALPHON

I bring to mankind, from God,
the Gift of Music.

I counsel you to remember
that of all God’s creations
man is the only one
with the ability to make music.

Make music to praise
the Lord!

Show your appreciation
for this wondrous ability.

And now I beseech you not to pray to me,
for I am only a messenger of the Lord.

Pray only to God.

In rabinnic lore, the Archangel Sandalphon, as the
Angel of Prayer, weaves from the prayers of the
faithful, garlands to grace the head of God.

When Sandalphon finishes weaving a wreath,
it places itself upon the head of the Lord.

Sandalphon is a giant angel.
He is so big that his size struck fear
into the heart of Moses,
when the prophet was taken into Heaven
to receive the Torah.

Sandalphon is one of the great
angelic princes and the twin brother
of the Archangel Metatron.

Sandalphon is the
Master of Heavenly Song.

Cabalists maintain that Sandalphon
is instrumental in bringing about the
differentiation of sex in the embryo.

Endlessly, Sandalphon fights by the side of
the Archangel Michael against Satan.

Sandalphon stands at the
crossways of Paradise
and helps the righteous find Heaven.

Sandalphon was once Elijah,
the Prophet of Israel.

The Archangel Sandalphon
leads the Angels of Mercy.
